The meeting will also see the selectors name India’s squads for next month’s home white-ball series against New Zealand, which will comprise three ODIs and five T20Is.
At present, Team India are engaged in a five-match T20I series against South Africa at home, with the concluding fixture scheduled in Ahmedabad on Friday.
“The Senior Men’s Selection Committee will meet at the BCCI Headquarters in Mumbai, on Saturday, to pick India’s squad for the T20I series against New Zealand and the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. It will be followed by a press conference to be addressed by captain Suryakumar Yadav and selection committee chairperson Ajit Agarkar,” the BCCI said on Friday.
Ahead of the T20 World Cup, which begins in February, India will host New Zealand for the white-ball series from January 11 to 31, featuring three ODIs and five T20Is.
The 10th edition of the tournament will see 20 teams in action over 29 days, with matches spread across eight venues in India and Sri Lanka, starting February 7.
Defending champions India have been drawn in Group A along with the USA, Namibia, the Netherlands and former winners Pakistan.
India, who are co-hosting the event with Sri Lanka, will play their group-stage matches at four venues — the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
India will open their campaign against the USA in Mumbai as they aim to become the first team to successfully defend the Men’s T20 World Cup title.
India, two-time T20 World Cup champions, had lifted the inaugural title in 2007 in South Africa.
